Good morning! It’s Tuesday, and because many new books are released on Tuesdays, I have been adding to my Kindle collection as if there were no tomorrow. And you know what else? Most of them were not new releases. I did get one of the new Kindle Prime books…but that was yesterday.
Above, note my little country cupboard which sits in the dining area…those print books are some of the ones left after my various purges. I do have a few scattered throughout the condo…and some day I will count them. I’m guessing I still have between 400-500 books.
Here is another cupboard with old favorites:

As you can see, I haven’t read that many of them…yet. If you’ve been following this blog, you also know I’m participating in the Read the Books You Buy Challenge, and have read 40 so far this year. Some of them are obviously from the last half of 2015, which counts for the challenge.
On the positive side, I have read 22 books I bought from January through April.

I’ve also been catching up on review books, and have no unread Vine books on my stacks at this moment. Of my NetGalley ARCs, I have one to be released in August, and two in October. So it’s all good.
I also have an author review requested book to complete…soon.

Out of boredom, I changed the theme here yesterday. Some of you might recognize the look from my Serendipity and Snow Sparks blogs.
What are you reading, buying, or reviewing lately?

Wow, you bought a lot of books! 🙂 Awesome. I am on a book budget so I usually just put the ones I want on my amazon wishlist and them hope they go cheap…lol. Some times I get lucky and I check it everyday for those that go free! 🙂 Hope you enjoy them all! 🙂

I really should curb those impulses! I start out the year doing better (7 in January, 6 in February), and I even just bookmark some on Amazon.
So why do I go crazy as the year rolls along?
Thanks for stopping by, Stormi. I always hope for cheap, and then my desire for the book wins out.

I really struggle to read my own books. I use to do massive pre orders of favorites but realized I started getting i own it, will read it soon mentality.. Now I impulse buy and read on the spot.

I like your method better than what I do, Kimberly. I have cut down on the pre-orders, though, especially when I think I might be able to find the book on NetGalley or Vine.
I find it’s easier to talk myself into owning books for my Kindle, since they are not “visible.”

The last book I bought was Something New. I have a bad habit of buying books and letting them sit so I’m trying to refrain.

I’m trying to read them sooner, but I could do better. Thanks for stopping by, Kathy.

You are really well organised for review books so no problem therefore buying new! Me – still trying to get review books done but am firmly saying no to any requests. Love how you change up your blog, I get that kind of buzz by making my little book icons to go at the end of my posts.

Thanks, Kathryn, I am a little OCD about deadlines…lol.
I love your little book icons, and always enjoy seeing them on your posts. Glad you like my little blog changes, too. Thanks for stopping by.

I hope you get to Flight Patterns, if you haven’t. I’ve a 2-second review coming on Two if By Sea and have a few of your purchases on my shelf…still unread. I really want to read my own books and tried for a while, but I become weak-kneed when a new release dangles in front of me like a carrot.

Thanks, Kathy, it is definitely a challenge to read the lovely books we buy, especially when we keep adding to the shelves.
