About Me

My life as a writer began in the early 2000s….and my first published book appeared on Amazon in September 2006.  An Accidental Life gives the reader a peek into the lives of teens and their mothers during one hot summer in California’s Central Valley.

I grew up in the Central Valley, and then took a running leap to other places, like San Francisco, an exciting place in the 1960s.  I next moved to Sacramento, where I received my B.A. degree in Psychology.  When I moved  to Fresno, I continued my graduate work and obtained an M.A. in Counseling.

My life in Fresno, where I currently live, found me probing the memories of the past…and borrowing scenarios and characters from the people I met, which included fictional versions of clients in my social work practice.

I then went on to write five more books…and with the publication of each, I took on the Laurel-Rain Snow persona/pseudonym.  In my “previous life,” I was Lorraine Frost Sandone.

I retired from social work in 2005…and worked in earnest on my writing.  In 2008, I started blogging, and now spend most of my days at my computer doing some form of writing.  I love reading, blogging, and I have another WIP in progress.

I have four grown children…and seven grandchildren.

Find out more about my books at my Laurel-Rain Snow Creations website and my Amazon Author’s Page.
