As the year ends, I find myself delving into bookish blog moments, especially since I do a lot of tabulating of my reading here.
I have pages created to total what I have read, and spent some time this week setting up the pages for the New Year. And adding numbers of what I accomplished this year. Which was not that great, I’ll admit. Toward the end of the year, my reading picked up a bit. Throughout the year, however, my monthly totals ranged between two, in some months, to seven in most.
I am not sure why my reading dropped so much, but I do know that I had a lot more outings and family time…and viewing of streaming shows, some I have even watched before.
I enjoyed my time, however, but I do hope to read more in the upcoming year. In this week alone, I spent all day reading…a couple of times. LOL.
Today I am reading a book by Dominick Dunne: Another City, Not My Own. In this tome, he fictionalizes the O.J. Simpson trial, where he spent time in a front row observing. When I watched the miniseries again, I enjoyed seeing him, in person, taking note of it all.
One of my favorite books of his, however, was An Inconvenient Woman, which was also made into a movie. I no longer have the film, which was recorded on VHS, but rereading the book reminded me of special moments. Rebecca DeMornay did an excellent job as the “inconvenient woman.”

Now I will return to my reading and viewing. And I think I’ll have another cup of coffee.
Enjoy your New Year!
