October 22, 2009: This blog was created.
Making progress on my huge TBR stacks is the purpose of this blog. Beginning today, I intend to document this progress, in words and in photos.
Documentation will include reviews, discussions, ranting, raving, whatever!
It all began a few years ago, when I started passionately collecting books. If I saw a book that I wanted, in the bookstores or on Amazon, I would buy it. I bought them faster than I could read them.
When I moved to my current residence in 2007, I had so many that I had them boxed separately than my other books, marked “TBR.” I didn’t want them to get mixed up with the books I had read.
I started reviewing books on Amazon around 2008, and then when I started blogging, I began reviewing in earnest. This motivated me to get through these stacks.
But I kept adding to them.
So my first step toward making progress was to inventory them; I created a document for them on my computer. Then I started this blog, just for the purpose of tracking this journey.
Since that day, I’ve made some significant progress; however, I’ve kept adding to the stacks. Nevertheless, I feel more in control, just knowing that I have a way to document this journey. I’m hoping that it will be a productive one.
Wish me luck!

There is nothing like a good stack of books! I look at mine and anticipate the day when they finally topple over. Good luck with getting through yours 😀

Thanks, Toni…my stacks have diminished a bit and I’ve even photographed the “revised” stack. Unfortunately, I keep getting new books, so I have additional stacks in my office!

That top photo is quite the story of my life, stuffed animal included, x3 You have a book by Joyce Carol Oates! I keep squinting at the spine, but I can’t make out the title – and how I wish I could! I read a collection of Gothic literature edited by Oates, once, and I’m curious about her work. Sadly, it’s the kind of curiosity that so far has not translates into action. But I intend to read something by her!

Oh,Entish, the JCO book is called Black Girl, White Girl. I still haven’t read that one! I couldn’t make out the title from the photo, so I had to go into my room and see the actual book! lol
Some of her books I’ve enjoyed more than others.
