MY TBR REPORT FOR 2017: SO FAR….

As I entered still another March book purchase today, I had to check out my reading progress so far.

In January, I purchased 20 books, and I have read 15!

In February, I bought 13 books, and I’ve read 3.

So far in March:  9 purchases and 1 read.

Overall, not bad.

How do I discover the books that I MUST buy?  Well, I blame the blogging community, of course…lol.  And then there is Goodreads.  From them I received the e-mail to notify me that a book I marked “to-read” is now available.  Thanks, Goodreads!

Actually, I am grateful, as even though I bookmark on Amazon, sometimes I forget an upcoming release date.  Today’s purchase is one I’ve been eyeing for so long that it had dropped off my bookmarks when I added several additional ones.

The Secrets You Keep (e-book), by Kate White, is a harrowing new psychological thriller about a successful self-help author who suddenly finds her life spiraling dangerously out of control.

What would you do if you realized that your new husband, a man you adore, is keeping secrets from you—secrets with terrifying consequences?

Bryn Harper, an accomplished self-help author, already has plenty to deal with. She’s still recovering from a devastating car accident that has left her haunted by recurring, smoke-filled nightmares. Worse still, she can’t shake the ominous feeling her dreams contain a warning.

In the beginning, Bryn’s husband Guy couldn’t have been more supportive. But after moving into a new house together, disturbing incidents occur and Guy grows evasive, secretive. What the hell is going on, she wonders? Then, a woman hired to cater their dinner party is brutally murdered.

As Bryn’s world unravels—and yet another woman in town is slain —she must summon her old strength to find answers and protect her own life. Her nightmares may in fact hold the key to unlocking the truth and unmasking the murderer.

With unexpected, riveting twists, The Secrets You Keep is an utterly compelling psychological thriller that once again showcases Kate White’s extraordinary storytelling talent.

I am definitely eager to dive into this one.  What do you think?

How are you doing with book purchases this year…so far?  Do you keep track?

  1. You are a great support to authors. Love that. I have been very restrained in buying, only a few, and I want to get most of them read before buying too much. Plus of course groaning TBR shelves.

    1. Ah (*sighing here*), I must admit that I am greedy when it comes to new books (or even older ones) that I want to read. Curbing my enthusiasm is something to work on, but not today. lol.

      Thanks for stopping by, Kathryn.

  2. I started to keep track last year via a spreadsheet. its part of my plan to avoid my TBR getting totally out of control. So this year I have not bought a single book yet though I seem to have acquired about 6 from friends or publishers. I’m hoping I can keep away from bookshops for a few months yet

    1. When I started this blog in 2009, my goal was to “control” my TBR stacks. I had 166 unread books when I moved here…almost ten years ago now.

While keeping track has not stopped the book buying…I am doing better at reading what I buy.

Thanks for stopping by, Karen, and spreadsheets do sound like the way to go…but too technical for me. LOL.
