Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
It has been a good week for reading, and today I’ve joined in for Dewey’s 24 Hour Read-a-Thon. I started out fairly late this morning, around 7:30 a.m., and I’ve been going at it pretty steadily. I’ve taken some breaks to blog and visit sites, have snacks, and even some dinner. My original plan was to read two or three small books, but instead, I started on one with 454 pages…and kept going with it because I love it. I should be finished soon.
I haven’t done a lot of movie watching this week, and nothing on Netflix. Usually that’s a weekend thing, but now I’ve got the reading thing going on. Here’s my reading with dinner.

Happy readathon, hope it’s going well! I haven’t watched much Netflix either this week.
June looks good, I like the back and forth angle in that one between the present and the past. And I hope The Obsession turns out well too. 🙂

Thanks, Greg, I am almost finished with The Obsession, and I’m loving it. But I had to take a break to charge my Kindle on the computer, as my wall charger quit working, and I haven’t figured out how to read on it while charging on the computer. This is my second one that’s gone on the fritz! I should buy a package of them….
Enjoy your week!

I really should do a read-a-thon! I mean, then when my husband asks what I did all day and I reply that I read all day, I will at least have some reason for it! 🙂 Have a good week!

Ha- good one, Samantha….this was my first one, and maybe I’m just not disciplined enough, as I kept looking longingly at the TV…as weekends are for movies, too. But I did make great headway, and the book I read was awesome. Thanks for stopping by, and have a great week.

I hope the readathon is going/has gone well for you. I’ve never joined in with one but I probably should one of these days! I’ll look forward to hearing what you managed to read during the readathon.

I’m within a few pages of finishing….and it was hard to sit and do nothing but read all day. I did manage some breaks….but otherwise, not that different from ordinary weekends…except no movies or Netflix! Sigh. Thanks for stopping by, Hayley, and enjoy your week.

I always think readathons would be like a normal 24 hours for me too because I read so much but it’s just the idea of doing nothing else at all in order to read that would be a little strange. I bet it’s fun to do once in a while though. Maybe I’ll try and join in with the next one. Well done on getting through to the end of yours. Hope you have a great week too! 🙂

Delighted to hear the read-athon went so well. I’m aiming to have a go at the one in May, so long as I’m on target for my editing chores… I’m interested to see you’ve got hold of ‘My grandmother…’ I love the title and the cover looks intriguing. Many thanks, Laurel – I will:). FYI – don’t bother with those sprays you mist onto closed eyelids, they are a waste of time. But I do regularly use eye drops for dry eyes when I’ve been overdoing the reading and editing and I find they bring great relief!

I hope you had a lovely readathon! Any day where you can spend most of the day reading is a good one in my book. I’m very eager to read The Obsession, but alas, I was #37 in line for a copy so it will be a while. Luckily, the library system added more copies, so there are now 16 in circulation.
Have a good week, and enjoy your books!

I didn’t choose my books very well this week, so I probably won’t end up reading the ones I listed….except I finished The Obsession, of course. I set aside a couple of the e-books as they didn’t engage me…at all.
Then I had problems with my Kindle charger…the trouble with having an Amazon device, you have to wait until one arrives by mail (tomorrow was the earliest).
Then, on a whim, I tried an old charger that had quit a while ago…and it worked! That puzzles me, but I’m glad to be fully charged again. So I guess I have at least one sort of iffy charger…and will have a new one tomorrow.
Thanks for visiting, Kathryn, and have a great week.

The Emily Giffin book looks good – I still couldn’t get myself to read e-books. Really am old fashioned that way, I suppose. I did try – I have a Kindle Fire, actually, but I really just don’t like reading on screen. But good to see how productive you are with it! 🙂

Thanks, Myra, I agree about the Giffin book. My main pull toward the e-books is how easy it is to download them…and they don’t visibly take up much space. I still have lots of print books around me.
The downside to e-books for me is the constant charging I have to do! And then my chargers go out on me…which stalls my reading. I need to keep a Jumbo pack of them around…LOL.
