BLOGGIESTA: MARCH 23-29 – FROM START TO FINISH!

Bloggiesta-Finish-Line3

And it’s a wrap, folks!  After a week of productivity and fun, we are done for now.  Bloggiesta, goodbye!

Here’s what I managed to accomplish.  I have crossed out the completed tasks…and as you can see, it was a great week.  And here is my Best Blogging Advice.

My List:

❏  write two reviews: First Review:  1) What I Remember Most, by Cathy Lamb;   Second Review: 2) Someone Is Watching, by Joy Fielding.  Done!
❏  clean up sidebars in one or two of my other blogs; cleaned up sidebar in Creative Journey; cleaned up sidebar on An Interior Journey.
❏  add a page (about me, contact, policy, etc)Page added under My Books, with Online LinksAdded an About Me page.   Done!
❏  clean up labels/tags  done!
❏  do two mini challenges; participated in Simplify Blogging Mini-Challenge; Pin Author Interviews Challenge.
change or fix one thing on my sidebar done!
❏  deleted some of my older pages, and combined them into one – combined older bookshelves into one:   2010-2013; TWEAKED the Chat Room pages; edited the main page for Bookshelves 2010-2013

❏  change one thing on my layout and/or look – Header, Background  done!
❏  comment on other Bloggiesta partipants’ blogs-have commented on 20 blogs so far

Revised the Chat Page on my blog Creative Journey;

Created new header at Creative Journey

Revised the Author Pages at An Interior Journey

Make a new Blog Button  Done!

Clean up media library – Oops!  I didn’t realize that by deleting the images from the library, they would disappear from the posts!  My bad.  So some of my posts are missing their images…and because I went a little crazy, it will take too much time to put them all back.  Why did I think this was a good idea?  Epic fail!

Spent several hours fixing the blog posts, inserting some images, and deleting the “numbers” that appeared in place of the images.

  1. Reblogged this on Ms M's Bookshelf and commented:
All of us from time to time need to spend a little time sprucing up our blog appearance, so this sounds like a good way to encourage that activity. Sign up or just make your own rules. Either way will probably pay off for you in the long run. Enjoy my Sunday reblog!

  2. I have a hard time managing two blogs, so incredibly impressed that you have eleven! Think I’m going to get a jump on my goals too, as I’ve already added several new tasks to my list! Since it’s a full week this time, think I’ll do some tasks for my neglected personal blog as well. Thanks for the inspiration! 🙂

    • I am finding that there was a lot that I needed to update or fix on some of my other blogs, so I don’t know that I’m managing them all that well, Terri…LOL.

I am enjoying fixing things, however. Hope you have fun with your goals.

  3. Dear Laurel,

I remember you mentioning previously that you use each event as a chance to focus on a different blog. This one looks lovely – and my, the event hasn’t even officially started and look at all you’ve accomplished!

I’ve posted my goals (which I’ll be updating now that the mini challenges are live) at The Book Nook #5 at Create With Joy. Look forward to seeing you in our book community. Have a wonderful and productive week!

  4. I’m hoping all those cross outs are because you decided not to do those things, but I bet you’ve already got all that accomplished. That’s quite a long list.
    Happy Bloggiesta!

I have 3, although my family history one gets very little attention these days.
I thionk this is the first timne I’ve been to this one – I like the wallpaper – elegant & not too fussy.

  6. Hi Laurel. I wanted to stop by and check out your list. Oh my gosh, you have an amazing number of blogs! That’s really impressive. This is such a great time to work on all of them then. It looks like you have been crazy at work already, if the strike outs and “done!”s are anything to go by. 🙂 I like the new layout.

    • At one point, I had twenty…LOL. Glad I reduced that number! I combined a few of them. And yes, that is a hefty number, but I focus primarily on my top five: An Interior Journey, Curl up and Read, Serendipity, Rainy Days and Mondays, and Potpourri.

Thanks for stopping by, Deb. Enjoy the week!

  11. Woohooo Congrats on meeting your goals. That’s amazing. I know I won’t be getting two of mine done. Mainly because there’s not enough time to do the one, and the other one was to attend all chats and I had to miss tonight’s.

  13. Oh Laurel that is sooo annoying I don’t know why it doesn’t put up a prompt to let people know that if you delete it that it’ll delete it in your posts too. I’m sure I’ve done this before, most pictures now I download to my computer, then put it up on my blog through that, and I can delete it off my computer straight away and it doesn’t affect my blog posts, because the pic itself was uploaded to the post, not just it’s url.

However, having said that you did fantastic on your goals, well done and see you at the next Bloggiesta on September…I’m already excited and can’t wait.
