Wow, it’s Friday already! How did that happen?
One good thing about Friday, though, is the opportunity to visit lots of blogs via the Book Blogger Hop, hosted by Crazy for Books.
Every week, she poses a question. Today’s Question:
“What are you reading now and why are you reading it?”
I like questions that focus in on my reading choices. Sometimes I read just because a book has been on my stacks for a long time…other times, it’s a new book that I can’t wait to read.
But today I’m reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, by Stieg Larsson…because I have seen this one EVERYWHERE in the blogosphere, and also because I signed up for a challenge: Awesome Authors Challenge. That’s the one where we pick books to read because we’ve heard so many good things about them.
I ordered it for my Kindle (Sparky) a couple of weeks ago, so now I’ve added it to my reading list.
I must admit that what I’ve read so far isn’t really “grabbing me,” but then again, I started it last night just before I finally zoned out from exhaustion. We’ll see what today brings.
What about the rest of you? What are you reading? I hope you’ll stop by and share….

I took me about 100 pages to get into Dragon Tattoo, but once I did, I was hooked on the trilogy. It starts with a lot of background information, but hang in there!
Oh, that’s good to know! I really want to like it! Thanks for stopping by, Delphyne.
Hi There!
Thanks for the visit! I’ve heard that about your latest read. It either grabs people or it doesn’t. There doesn’t seem to be anything inbetween!
Hope you have a great weekend!

Yes, I’m going to give it some more pages…usually I hang in for at least 100 pages. Of course, it’s hard to tell with e-readers (about the pages).
Thanks for stopping by, Barb.
I read this one a little while ago. It starts slow, but definitely picks up. Lisbeth Salander is a very interesting character. I haven’t read the rest of the series yet. They are a little disturbing for me.
Oh, I’m wondering about that, too. The disturbing part, I mean. As for the characters, if they grab me, that’s usually enough. Thanks for stopping by, Amanda.
Thanks for stopping by. I had a lot of problems with this book, but overall it was a good and the 2nd is sitting on a pile waiting to be read.
Good to know…thanks for visiting, Kristina….happy reading!
Hope your enjoying it. It’s on my tbr list.
Have an awesome Friday!
Natalie :0)
The first bit I read didn’t capture my attention, but then today’s reading has grabbed me a bit more. It’s picking up….so hopefully, I’ll stay engaged. Thanks for stopping by, Natalie.
I’ve seen mixed reaction on the Millenium series, that’s what keeps me from reading it. Maybe one day. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Glad you could hop on by, Jael…Today’s reading on my book has captivated me a bit more….So hopefully, I’ll enjoy it.
I’m currently reading 3 books: The biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer by Eric Metaxas along with “The Call to Discipleship” by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, which is an excellent way to read his biography because you’re getting not just what people said about Bonhoeffer but what he said himself. If you like history, especially German history, you’ll enjoy these books.
I’m also reading “The Miracle at Speedy Motors” by Alexander McCall Smith. This is more of the same from him (I have the rest of the books in the series) which is to say it’s an enjoyable light read that takes you to another continent and culture with some mystery thrown in. I’ve always loved Africa and want to go back and stay longer this time. Until then, I’ll just have to read about Mma Ramotswe in Botswana.
I have one of Alexander McCall Smith’s books on my stacks…I am curious about his books.
Thanks for stopping by, Sharon.
I’m dying to read this book – I’ve heard amazing things about it and thought the movie was fantastic. Make sure you see it too!
Oh, I definitely plan to do that, Nikola…thanks for stopping by.
Stick with it. I bet you’ll hit that sweet spot and then the pages will fly. I enjoyed all 3 of the Stieg Larsson’s books.
Hopping by and thanks for stopping by to see me on my blog!
I think I hit it when we met the “girl with the dragon tattoo.” She is a fascinating character. Thanks for stopping by, Kay.
Good answer! The answer on my book blog is a little embarassing; it’s a book that’s been sitting on my TBR pile for a year.
To my shame, I only opened the book because I remember it contained an Amazon gift card.

Thanks for hopping by, Howard. I have lots of books on my TBR piles (the old piles, as distinguished from the newer ones). But I’m working my way through them.
Hopping through. I really liked Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I want to read the rest but haven’t had time yet.
My Hop
I am liking it the more I get into it, Alison…I keep getting distracted, though; I hope I finish it today, but who knows?
Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I need to read this book so badly. I’ve now been told by so many friends that I’d really enjoy it. Perhaps I’ll get around to it sometime in the near future?
Have a great weekend!

Books Turn Brains
I wouldn’t have started reading it yet, either, if I hadn’t received my Kindle…downloading new books to the e-reader helps assuage the fears that I’ve had about overstacked bookshelves.
I’ve been reading it off and on today, and it’s so intense that I have to occasionally take a break…but it’s hard to put it down! Thanks for stopping by, Chelsea.
