BOOK BLOGGER HOP: 2-4 TO 2-7

Wow, it’s Friday already!  How did that happen?

One good thing about Friday, though, is the opportunity to visit lots of blogs via the Book Blogger Hop, hosted by Crazy for Books.

Every week, she poses a question.  Today’s Question:

“What are you reading now and why are you reading it?”

I like questions that focus in on my reading choices.  Sometimes I read just because a book has been on my stacks for a long time…other times, it’s a new book that I can’t wait to read.

But today I’m reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, by Stieg Larsson…because I have seen this one EVERYWHERE in the blogosphere, and also because I signed up for a challenge:  Awesome Authors Challenge. That’s the one where we pick books to read because we’ve heard so many good things about them.

I ordered it for my Kindle (Sparky) a couple of weeks ago, so now I’ve added it to my reading list.

I must admit that what I’ve read so far isn’t really “grabbing me,” but then again, I started it last night just before I finally zoned out from exhaustion.  We’ll see what today brings.

What about the rest of you?  What are you reading?  I hope you’ll stop by and share….

  1. I read this one a little while ago. It starts slow, but definitely picks up. Lisbeth Salander is a very interesting character. I haven’t read the rest of the series yet. They are a little disturbing for me.

    • The first bit I read didn’t capture my attention, but then today’s reading has grabbed me a bit more. It’s picking up….so hopefully, I’ll stay engaged. Thanks for stopping by, Natalie.

  2. I’m currently reading 3 books: The biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer by Eric Metaxas along with “The Call to Discipleship” by Dietrich Bonhoeffer, which is an excellent way to read his biography because you’re getting not just what people said about Bonhoeffer but what he said himself. If you like history, especially German history, you’ll enjoy these books.
I’m also reading “The Miracle at Speedy Motors” by Alexander McCall Smith. This is more of the same from him (I have the rest of the books in the series) which is to say it’s an enjoyable light read that takes you to another continent and culture with some mystery thrown in. I’ve always loved Africa and want to go back and stay longer this time. Until then, I’ll just have to read about Mma Ramotswe in Botswana.

  3. Stick with it. I bet you’ll hit that sweet spot and then the pages will fly. I enjoyed all 3 of the Stieg Larsson’s books.

Hopping by and thanks for stopping by to see me on my blog!

    • I wouldn’t have started reading it yet, either, if I hadn’t received my Kindle…downloading new books to the e-reader helps assuage the fears that I’ve had about overstacked bookshelves.

I’ve been reading it off and on today, and it’s so intense that I have to occasionally take a break…but it’s hard to put it down! Thanks for stopping by, Chelsea.
